A hallmarked, textured, forged Sterling Silver ring of an open form set with a caobochon of Andamooka Jelly Opal .

Being colourblind I sometimes do not appreciate the subtleties of pale colours, but this Andamooka Jelly Opal really appealed to me as I began to reveal the colours inside the rough gemstone.

Andamooka Jelly Opals come in a variety of styles from the ones with a variety of coloured flashes in them to very dark browns – this one is not a flashy one but still has a beautiful play of pale colours and darker spots within it.

This was the second of the Menhir Open Rings and I wanted it t be showier than the Orbicular Agate and thus the gem is on the large size and the upstand of forged silver opposite it is tall as well. That said this sits easily on the finger and as Karren who modeled it for me said – ‘it is very easy to wear whatever I might be doing’.

This ring is 37mm tall, 27mm wide and 30mm deep.
